Torryon lasts about two years at each company he goes to. He is a nice guy, but through personal experience in working under him I’m sad to say that he oversells himself to the next company that picks him up. Where I worked there was a major paradigm shift that took place after he came on board and it has been detrimental to the engineering department of that company. He along with his superior really drove it into the ground and destroyed the camaraderie that was enjoyed by the people that worked there. The engineering department under his leadership had 10 long term, experienced employees leave the company including myself. You can’t run an engineering division for a central Florida based company out of your house in Atlanta, GA. His major problem is that he has never invested in building relationships with his subordinates. He admitted to that fault, but never remedied the situation. Unfortunately, I think his ability to lead where he currently works has been severely hampered by his operational mindset. If you don’t have the confidence of your workers, you don’t have their respect. As I say, he is a nice guys, but wrong for the company he works at.

Hearing so much on Open RAN for many years, but till now, we don't see any major success except some small networks. I think this open RAN concept becomes less important as Network capes keeps getting optimised and revenues are growing. So, brownfield operators have no great advantage with Open RAN and Greenfield's may not take that risk seeing Rakuten I guess, not doing great, looks like an expansive toy.

meanwhile a decade+ later ISPs for the most part have just kept CGNAT as a way to not update their network infrastructure and just keep pocketing the cash from new signups. how they must love being able to effectively resell the same, in use IP address again, and invest nothing in the national network. more profit than ever! nobody really notices, they just sometimes think huh my game/application doesn't seem to work right, it must be a problem with their program, or my network, or operating system.. no, your ISP is doing the dirty instead of investing in the very much needed IPv6, so you can't be accessed via your external IP even when you want or need to be. go ahead and forward ports in your own router if you even know what that is, but it's all being blocked by the ISPs CGNAT anyway. idk how ISPs can advertise a connection without very large, bold letters explaining that it's a quite limited CGNAT connection- if you don't ask them for a static IP, you can't even use FTP because it keeps switching the IP address you're on from moment to moment.. there has not been the appropriate level of rage and coverage of this topic in general i feel.
