Is the AMD version better?
Yes
Nice comparison. Many people are looking to compare these two handhelds, but they released the OneX1 8840u with VRR screen (according to ETA Prime). I wonder which is the best if compared with the GPD Mini. Additionally, the GPD Mini has a third-party handgrip with magnetic attachments, as well as options for magnetic fans.
Performance will be pretty much the same so it depends on what form factor you prefer. After using the intel X1 I didnât even bother getting the AMD version because the controllers are so uncomfortable. I donât want a handheld that doesnât feel good in the hands. (I did get the x1 mini tho) đ€·đœââïž
Nope
Yup.
@@BarelyAverageDude Than play any pc game
@@sanji663 doesnât need to play every game known to man to pass the challenge. Just needs a good amount of fun, high quality games with controller support. The steam Deck canât play every game, but itâs still great. Thereâs levels to it. Gotta have an open mind to whatâs possible.
@@BarelyAverageDude But the list of quality games is still 100x lower
@@sanji663 it is. But itâs more than enough to pass the one week challenge and even beyond depending what games you play. For example, What about those gamers who only play Minecraft? It may not be enough for everyone, but you canât say itâs not enough for anyone.
VRR is amazing but I will take HDR on an OLED everyday over it. Plus I have a gaming PC with a mini-led monitor for anything hard to run. Also I can just stream hard to play games.
The OLED screen is definitely amazing! I love the Deck, but for me the resolution and performance is a little less than I prefer. BUT for my indie game collection itâs hard to beat. đ
The fans make a lot of noise? Also can you do 2 screens FHD at 144Hz? Or 2 screens 4k 60Hz? Thanks
Hey dummy, we know the milliwatt hours, but how long is it last? How many hours total a day can you play on the continuously there help you answer that every single one that you are reviewing I canât believe I had to tell you that.đâŒïž
Can't run a test like this where all the heat from the aokzoe is literally blowing right into the ALLY..... This will definitely affect many things including battery
Battery nor performance was impacted by this test. The results are the same when testing the Ally independently in all typical use cases.
GPD Win Mini is just perfect for me. The keyboard and trackpad are so good for windows navigation
Definitely! Thatâs why itâs one of the BEST without question.
whats that overlay ypu have on the legion go?
Following lol
Itâs called GamePP (plus plus)
If lego goes more powerful, battery, fan, thinner, ( keep the size of the screen), Oled vrr etc.. itâs great. I really like the fact the controls come off. I play with the joy cons off way more than on
That would be awesome to see in the Go V2 đ„
Have legion go and steam deck lcd. Both are amazing but have to give the edge to the legion go.
What accessory do you use with your gpdwin mini?
Which accessory?
What's the difference between sd oled and ole LE
The regular OLED has a glossy screen in the 512gb version and an anti reflective screen in the 1tb version. The OLED LE only has a 1Tb anti reflective version and it came in a limited translucent shell with orange accents. Also it was limited, so you canât get it anymore. (Unless you buy second hand)
10:05đđ
lol laugh at my struggle. đ I got the W tho đȘđœ
I'm SD user and been playing it mostly for FFxiv. I love it. But recently have been considering to move on to either Ally X or win mini. More inclined to ally x
Ally x may be the way to go unless to absolutely need the portability of the Win Mini.
@@BarelyAverageDude protability+utility vs. comfort. Ally X in my opinion wins performance/price. But if its merely for mmorpg then i'd need win mini keyboard. But how often would i use the kb? still so confused rn đ
@@adtsiriusstarr112thatâs a good question. đ€ Maybe 28.46% of the time
I only have the Deck Oled now and almost got the Legion Go, but I don't regret getting the Deck with it's customization, quick resume from sleep where I stopped in the game, customization of controls and performance per game. The screen is amazing and I like the controller layout (symmetrical) and the touch pads is something I thought I didn't need, but it adds much more to my games, like aiming with it over joystick, Warframe directional abilities swipe (press for operator mode) and just so much more. The Go would've been harder to hold for the time I play.
You definitely donât disappoint when it comes to videos
Appreciate it đđœ What do you want to see next?

Itâs very close, but I canât put it over the Win mini IMO it is the best 6in handheld tho đ
@@BarelyAverageDude okay fair enough as I have and love them both đâșïžđđ
Rog Ally X is coming to rule them all
It will definitely replace the original Ally in the top 5 list. What makes you think it will be #1 overall?
â@BarelyAverageDude imo it will be the 80wh battery, 2 type C ports 24ram maybe not a faulty micro sd . 2280 ssd (1tb).
@@Drzestrella19great features no doubt! My philosophy after trying them all is that there is no one âbestâ handheld because everyone wants something different. What will you tell the people that love the larger screen and detachable controllers of the Legion Go? How will you convince the Steam Deck fans that love the OLED, steam OS, and playing with trackpads? âBestâ will always be a variety.
Not after cooking sd card agian â@@BarelyAverageDude
yea, its all variations on a theme right now.
Any update?
What do you want to know? Iâm currently using the pro controllers with my Quest 3
Sa sere Ă rien
I'm a tech addict and i'm learning english so you help me a lot dude ! Love from France <3
Well I must call false advertising because on your thumbnail you merged the two halves together to make it a hybrid controller, left half keyboard and right side joystick.
The fairer comparisons will be AMD X1 and AMD X1 mini vs AMD Win Max and AMD Win mini. Intel is the biggest drawback.
Iâd probably take the AMD X1 & Win mini as the perfect combo
Hey I been wondering bro, what do u think of the 2 pro controllers? Are they better feeling ergonomically since they r larger than the X1 controllers? I was thinking those controllers would've been a much better size option to use on the X1 than the size of the ones we actually get
OXP 2 controllers are 100% more comfortable than the X1. BUT they are much thicker so it wouldnât really work on the X1 unless the tablet was almost 2x the thickness. But who wants an 11in tablet that thick? đ€·đœââïž Itâs an unfortunate compromise to have a 3in1.
@@BarelyAverageDude oh ya I totally get that, I just meant like if they modeled the X1 controllers closer to that of 2/2 pro to be more proportionate to the 11 inch tablet size then it wouldve been much better if a decision I think, like same materials and whatnot but alter the size a lil bit and maybe move some buttons/joysticks around for optimal ergonomics
Onexplayer is a scam co
How? I've ordered 5 devices from them over the years and always received what I ordered. But if you're experience is different let me know so I can inform others.
I have the GPD Win Max 2 2023, and the GPD G1 egpu, and i absolutely LOVE IT. I modded the case to attach heatpipe directly connectd to heatpipes coming from CPU, and connected the new heatpipe to a thin heatsink to the bottom of the case. It lowered my max Temps from 93 down to max of 82 that ive seen so far. I even love it far more than using my far more powerful Alienware x15 R2 with RTX 4080 egpu via Razer Core X Chroma.
Easily Steam Deck Oled since I want a console like experience and hassle free compared to the hassle of windows gaming (hence why I prefer gaming on PS5 than gaming PC). Legion Go would be my pick, but the Deck just has much more pros than the Go.
Are you from Bermuda? I hear an accent.
You already know! đ§đČ
@@BarelyAverageDude I havenât heard that accent in over 13 years ago. I had a classmate in trade school from Bermuda. Itâs very unique.
@@aserr5660 that's what's up! Do you remember their name?
@@BarelyAverageDude nah, it was too long ago. I remember him telling me his Friend Nahki Wells played in the 2013 League Cup final. We were studying HVAC.
He is using M3 Max which is way more expensive even if considered Buying A base m1 air 2020 model all application will run for more than basic task even 4k editing and can buy a budget gaming laptop which can run all the games shown in the video with more fps and still spare some cash ... M3 Max is a beast if you have only this laptop then yes with future updates it seems promising and windows transitioned to ARM as well we see very More titles supporting
People, please, don't buy mac's for gaming. It's terrible idea now and in closest future. Do game works? Yes. Some native titles playable like BG3, CK3, Rimworld, EVE Online, WoW and etc. But even in them you can experience performance issues and graphic artifacts. Do windows games works? Some. Via crossover or other tools. But you might experience even more performance issues and graphic artifacts. And even more for some games there are presets with extra software to run the game in crossover, but for lot of games you need to install extra software by yourself which is not clear what exact software you even need to just run some game, and no one know. Do external devices works? And again the answer is SOME. Some controllers works with native games. Less controllers works via steam. Some controllers works via crossover. But for most external devices you can't install and run configurational software, or this software might not see your devices. For example steering wheels especially force feedback feature. So just buy PC where works all of it, and not some.
Aside from the X1Con, it might be better to ASUS ROG Flow Windows tablet, IIRC you might be able to pick one up at BB for around 1.5k USD, it comes with a 13th gen i9 and a RTX 4060.
I actually have the ROG flow z13 with 4060. It's my go to gaming tablet (I don't use it as a laptop) It's a great device, but you gotta be plugged in if you want more than 25mins of battery.
@@BarelyAverageDude I almost scored one with a i9 and 3050 at BB around Xmas for 1.1k but missed it since I did have the funds. Forgot what gen the i9 was. Ended up getting their One Netbook T1. Bought a Legion Go a few months later. Ya the battery is a down side, IDK if you could switch to the iGPU for low end games
It's definitely possible to play some low end games on the intel Xe graphic, but at that point a current handheld would be much better đ€·đœââïžâ@@themadatheist1976
This is good accessories for legion go! Thanks for sharing
Yeah itâs a great addition for grip and comfort. đđœ
No it cannot. Unless you have other ways to game like consoles and don't need your entire PC library and are okay with all the comprises that come with it, then yeah, it can replace your gaming PC. If you're actually serious about PC gaming, then realistically, the answer is no, like you said. That's not what Macs are made for or advertised for. Just how far back does this conversation go, 20+ years? It's an old, tired conversation and PC will always be the better choice for gaming specifically, that's just the way it is.
I do agree with you do a degree, but progress is being made and weâve come a loooong way. This video was already 20min and I didnât even show 1/5th of the games that I tested Also what do you mean by being âserious about PC gamingâ Is there a certain game/games you have to play to be a serious gamer? I know PC is better, Iâm a PC gamer; but things are the way they are until they arenât. Like how the Steam Deck compatibility list grew anything is possible if the right people take notice/action. Maybe it canât replace my PC yet (or ever, who knows), BUT I can play Cyberpunk and that wasnât even possible on consoles when it first released đ đ€·đœââïž Iâm having fun
@@BarelyAverageDude By 'serious' I mean like that is your number one priority when buying a computer. If that's the case then yeah no Mac is obviously not the best choice. Considering how long Macs have not been that great for gaming, I personally don't think it will ever be a true competitor in that space, but who knows. If you're having fun, more power to ya, we're all tech nerds here at the end of the day đ€
@@OCDGeek128 yeah I agree no one should buy a Mac if there goal is to game. Only time will tell, but Iâm excited for whatâs already possible and what the future may bring. Iâm pretty non bias when it comes to tech; I use what works for me. I have an iPhone and a Galaxy, I have an iPad and a Tab s+, I have a gaming PC and a Mac for video editing. I donât really care who makes something as long as it does what I need it do to. The Mac is not the right tool for gaming; itâs like cutting a tree down with a knife. Itâs technically possible, but a waste of effort unless itâs life or death.
@@BarelyAverageDude Well put, yeah I agree! I'm also kind of the same myself, I like to use a little bit of everything. My main machine is a gaming PC I built, I use an iPad 10 and mini mostly around the house, and use a Google Pixel 8 Pro for my phone. So I'm using a little bit of the big three when it comes to OS's, Microsoft, Apple, and Google. Oh and I got a Switch Oled and Steam Deck Oled also. I like the variety and don't want to limit myself to one company. Anyways take care man, I don't want to drag this conversation on too long and bother you with notifications. Keep up the good work, I'm a subscriber!
I am thinking of buying this Mac, I need one to replace my current Mac, but does this 14â model thermo throttle at all?
I havenât experienced any throttling. But I use a utility to have a custom fan curve so idk about the stock setup.
Looks good to me lol
I was actually impressed with a lot of the games. Anything else I should try?
Yes it canđ
What game(s) would you play?
Two words bro; hell no!!
Iphone is a phone, and will always be just a phone. Sick of people treating it like a dedicated handheld gaming device when it isnât. I didnât look this video up by the way. I typed in âFuck Iphone, buy me a Steam Deckâ, then I typed in âROG Ally is better than Iphoneâ. Because we all know that at the end of the day, video game streaming is đđ© and app store games frickin suck, my guy.
I own a 13 Pro btw. Itâs ok. I also doubt the 15 Pro is much better.
The switch is trash đ.
If a kid asked me for a handheld, theyâre getting a Switch. If I had to take a handheld to a family games night, Iâm taking the Switch for Smash and Mario kart. Itâs definitely weak, but it has a place in the gaming world. One manâs trashâŠ
When youre benchmarking, the settings should be exactly the same. Your res on the Kun during Returnal is 1200p (1920x1200) & 1080p on the mini
The Kun is just there for temp reference, itâs not really a direct performance comparison. But yeah they are different.

The one USB C being block shouldnât a problem in hand held mode. Why would you have anything else other than the charging cord connected while in hand held mode?
You canât have anything else connected, thatâs the problem. đ đ€·đœââïž Thereâs so many reasons someone would want to use both of their ports while in handheld mode, but they donât even have the option. If the port was accessible in handheld mode, would you say âdonât put anything other than charging cord?â
@@BarelyAverageDude what else would you connect to it while you are playing on it lol? My personal opinion is when I play using the controllers I would like to be free of any connections while in hanb held mode. But thats just me. FYI i actually have the X1 and never had the need for anything else on it whike playing.
@@arvince99a USB C flash drive or a USB C connector for wireless headphones. These are just 2 examples of things I actually use, not to mention things that other people may want to use. Iâm not saying itâs a problem for everyone in every situation but itâs not the best when you lose an option.
Which device is the easiest on your neck? My neck hurts looking down at these handhelds. I'm thinking the higher screen on this device would alleviate some of that fatigue.
This one is definitely one of the best for that. Because you can hold it at the most comfortable angle and then tilt the screen to the most optimal viewing angle itâs much easier on your neck a wrist
Bro the magnetic grips r a serious GAME CHANGER for the Win Mini's ergonomic, and they look off the Ocu port because people went postal about the lack of usb port, even tho they give u a C to A dongle, but now that the Ocu is gone people r losing their minds again , "grass is always greener" / "people always want what they dont have" types of shenanigans i guess
