Why is it that I love topiary so much when in effect it is the botanic equivalent of keeping animals in zoos and worse - of making animals conform to our own needs and requirements? It's a mutilation of plants!

I have a weird question. I took my cuttings and put them into a greenhouse box (I used rooting hormone) and now there seems to be mold growing on the dirt. What should I do to correct this? Will my cuttings be okay?

That is magnificent!!! Bravo to you Chris!! I have never seen anything like this garden. It is impeccable, plus the history and age.... I am just starting the historic garden renovation in a 17th century convent we have been restoring for about 14 years now. We have 400 year old yews and a Lebanon cedar along with many lime trees. Your garden is an absolute inspiration to me. Thank you!
