Yes, He hates it. But that doesn't mean it should never happen. I am soooooo grateful that my mother got divorced from my father. He is a man that always put himself first. He is a narcissist and was not a loving husband nor was he a good father. He is a liar. So..... the worst thing was getting married to him and the best thing was getting divorced from him. I wished they got a divorce much sooner, then less damage would have been caused. It were my mother's church people that judged her. Even after 23 years some stupid christian woman asked me "why did your mother get a divorce while God said its not ok?"..... The hypocrite.... she is also divorced 😒. I was done with her.

If the partner you married is abusive and not willing to stop and change his or her ways and physically harmful towards their spouse,then the other individual should exit the marriage before it gets worse. Marriage is great if it's a healthy marriage and two people are both willing to actually love each other,put in the work ,trust God and not hurt each other.

Very simple . . . If you are a Born Again Christian of any Christian denomination, the Holy Spirit will testify to you that God hates divorce and therefore you will hate divorce. You do not need to go to any priest for this. However, nowhere does it say that you cannot separate especially if your spouse is abusive. If you do end up getting a divorce, you cannot remarry since that is adultery and that is a damnable sin. You must stay single the rest of your life. This is why it is important to work hard on your marriage or even have a separation with the intent of reconciliation if need be.

Matthew 5:31-32 KJV - "It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery." First off, Jesus said "saving for the cause of fornication", not "adultery", because adultery is merely one type of fornication like a square is a type of rectangle. Second, this isn't *ALL* Jesus said on the subject. Matthew 5 recorded one part of it, and Matthew 19 recorded another: Matthew 19:9 KJV - "And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery." So looking at the more complete picture of what Jesus said reveals that both the husband and wife who divorce and remarry (except for the cause of fornication) are *BOTH* adulterers AND the those who marry them are *ALSO* adulterers as they have contributed to "adulterating" the original marriage. Jesus' words in Luke 16:18 also confirms this. Note the wording in these statements: "saving for the cause of fornication" and "except it be for fornication". This is *CRITICALLY IMPORTANT* because what Jesus does not specify *AT WHAT POINT* the adultery/fornication must take place for it to fully free the cheated-on spouse from the marriage to marry another. Therefore, by the logic of his words, if *YOU* are the one cheated on *OR* if you're divorced and your ex-spouse then marries another, then Jesus has declared that to be adultery. And since He also said "saving for the cause of fornication", that now logically frees the spouse who *DIDN'T REMARRY FIRST* to now be fully free to remarry and not break the Commandment of adultery. See how liberating that is? You just gotta wait for the spouse to remarry or be reconciled to him or her. But, unfortunately, by that same logic, Jesus is saying if you're divorced and the ex *DOES NOT REMARRY AT ALL* and never cheated on you and never *FORNICATES,* then you *CANNOT* get remarried under *ANY CIRCUMSTANCES* until that ex is dead. Therefore, you had better pick your spouse based on loyalty to God first and foremost or the overwhelming odds are you *WILL* regret it sooner or later. I hope this clears things up for those confused about Jesus' teachings on divorce. It took me a long time to understand it.

So being in a physical and mentally abusive marriage isnt acceptable to leave? Pretty sure Jesus did not want me to stay in a marriage that makes me feel unsafe and mirrors my childhood abuser. God wasnt in our first marriage because he said "before he met me he thought marriage was stupid."
