What if their lie has destroyed your career? What if the police had evidence of the other person committing a crime and their lie about you was motivated to prevent you from finding out about the crime and the police arrested you anyway? One other question and I am sure this is different from state to state but what if the detective deleted evidence, after your PI saw that it proved you were looking into the crime when the person said what they said? I know this sounds far fetched but it is happening to someone I know.

Well the prosecutor decided to charge me even tho in the police affidavit it stated they found “no evidence of criminal activity.” And at arraignment the judge stated he almost couldn’t find probable cause and that it seems to be a weak case. My lawyer already told the judge exactly the motions she plans to file. Doesn’t seem like a knockout case for the DA. Smh

Can you make a video about allegations of witness tampering? Especially if you are accused of a crime with somebody that you work with, live with, or a family member and you don’t have a no contact order or it expired and you’re going to live or work in close proximity. How can you avoid Allegations? What if they want an apology from you or an explanation? What’s OK to say and not say?

I know washington state are very strict on protecting kids. Anyone who is over 18 and had hurt children under 13, is illegal and they can face conviction for that. That including beating children up or even being mean and not nice to them. Even if a 5 years old hit an adult over 18 and the adult hit back, is illegal and they would get convicted. Thats washington state.

I was in an accident last Sept. Neither one of us yielded. I hit her. She didn't want me to call the cops. She left the scene. Neither one of us had insurance. On my ticket, it states it was NOT an accident. I could not afford to pay the ticket. My license was suspended. The other lady wants to sue me for over $9000.00 and sent me a paper saying if I don't pay her my license will be suspended. Is any of this legal?

Suppose someone was secretly and wrongly accused of trouble to the feds by a neighbor because of the way you look, or because of not feeling safe because of your appearance, or whatever the unfortunate case may be.

I was threatened for over half an hour right in front of the sheriff. Also did damage to my property right in front of the sheriff. Whole thing on body cam from sheriff on duty. How much more witness is needed. Man scared the crap out of me and his family/ him kept damaging my yard and harassing me even after protection order. What an idiot. I hope they throw the book at him.

I understand we shouldn’t get hung up on the DV, but the world will get hung up on the DV. Having that carries weight and actually can close people’s minds to you for jobs and housing. Where is the legislation to change that? Talk about a justice system that doesn’t care about actual justice! Having a DV just because people live in the same house or knew each other out some point And then labeling any crime committed against thosepeople is an injustice. Literally can ruin someone’s whole life even if they have the case dismissed. How is that not a miscarriage of justice? How can people start legislation to change that? Especially because we’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, but you have to hang with this albatross of DV on your record even if you’re proven not guilty now it’s something you always have to explain.

This is actually really frightening, considering that they are in the ones charging people with criminal acts. Even the act of being charged can cause irreparable damage to somebody. I know there’s nothing they can do to lighten the cases, but that’s terrifying to think that it may be a case that if they had known all the facts or watched all the videos or something like that may have not even been charged is really unfortunate for that person now who has to carry that.

Really depends on the DA. Dealing with this now with my husband, I am the protected party. They asked me if I wanted the NCO dropped because he mentally ill and are recommending counseling as well as classes. Complice will result in all charges dropped. DA recommended dropping it so we could work on our marriage. I was allowed to request that a psychiatric evaluation be done and 3-4 month continuance of the NCO, until I see change and compliance.

If a prosecutor declines to charge and they enter it in, can they go back and change their mind? Or in the first example, if they had all their evidence and didn’t have enough, this is the only time where they might not be able to change their mind because they had everything available? or does it need to also be like declined to charge with prejudice?

Really helpful video. I definitely feel like paying the flat rate really allows people in trouble with the law to know that they can afford or not afford some additional help from a private lawyer. I actually feel like family law, real estate law, most other lawyers just feel like money, hungry sharks. I’ve used them and have good services, but half the time I don’t even understand what the bill is for; I just feel I have to accept it. I don’t even really know what work they’re doing, so at the end of the day I don’t always feel very positive about my relationship with them. I almost rather they at least create an estimate up to a certain point of what it’s gonna cost and then only if it goes in this direction or this is added is it extra. Like if they’ve been a lawyer for a while, you think they would know probably how much time something should take if it’s just, a typical litigation case they handle.

The further my case goes, the more I realize how screwed up our justice system is. The "victim" can say whatever they want and despite having GPS and video evidence, you are deemed guilty unless you go through an expensive trial.

I just lost visitation with my daughter that I wouldn't sign adoption papers for and since I wasn't aware and they got me on violating that order when I went to visit her. Building a case for 7 months now on me and now I'm facing violations for visiting my forced adopted baby. What now. Now the city has me on probation and I'm facing child abandonment.

They also cannot abuse handcuffed suspects, arrest without PC, Demand ID without RS etc, but somehow these things happen. So, these "lines" you speak of are BS. Sure if they cross those lines, the 'confession' won't be admissible, but there is no real punishment for the officer. DAs have to be dragged kicking and screaming to indite an officer and officers don't care about lawsuits because they will just tax(rob) the citizens to pay...
