This is why I hate going to the doctors. Haha Thank you for this. I grew up watching this movie. I think people that are not Italian don’t get the humor.
I'm not Italian, but I've struggled with weight, and I dealt with diet doctors and nutritionists who were basically like this (plus I'm a big fan of Dom DeLuise), so I totally get it. Perhaps not the family dynamics, but everything else, I totally get - even Dom's insecurities over his love for Lydia.
@@GroverKent oh trust me. I’ve got chronic illnesses and grew up at numerous specialists…so I also understand how doctors are not…always the best. I am sorry that doctors didn’t treat you like you should and respect you. I grew up with his movies too. He’s such an amazing and underrated actor.

An ad that ran in the tv guide (remember those ? Crossword puzzles and all ?) featured the lines 'Pink Lady is the biggest thing in Japan !" followed by "No, Jeff, the biggest thing in Japan is Godzilla !" Screamingly funny. This show tanked as quickly as " Highcliff Manor" had exactly a year earlier.

To be fair, some of their other shows were pretty good up until the original LOTL; after that, their shows seemed to go downhill pretty quickly.
So me being born in the early 1990's and this movie made so much earlier than me. My parents wanted me to watch this movie as a lesson to learn about the dangers of compulsive eating and Obesity. It was etched in my younger days when I was 5-6 years old. Now I practice and breath controlled eating and healthy calorie intake to this day and I am 28 years old now
