      You're welcome, Henry. No, you most likely won't be able to do a guitar using this stuff. The friction, for which the polish is named, is required to get things to cure. You may be able to get away with doing multiple coats with dry time in between but I"m not entirely sure... never tried it. Thanks for watching.

  • @mylesstandridge1111

    When gluing pieces that you don't want to slide when clamping add a little salt onto the spread glue before assembly, the sharp salt crystals will keep the pieces from moving but will quickly dissolve not having any other impact. To cut the splines after installed you can pick up a flexible flush cut saw at HD and get the splines cut virtually flat, although it is a bit more work and time consuming it will be very close to flush.

    Thanks for the good spline designs. Couldn’t you glue the corner first, then with the blade at 45 degrees and the corner in a 45 degree spline jig, cut the kerfs so the splines would add strength?

    • @industrialcomfort
      @industrialcomfort Před měsícem

      Hi Courtney - you could, yes, but keep in mind your cuts would have to be 100% precise. It is one of those things that's easier said than done. Personally I don't think that I'd ever be able to line things up cleanly enough. Your wood would need to be 100% flat and square on each plane. Wood glue is strong enough that it allegedly creates a bond that is as strong as the wood itself. Additional structural rigidity on a joint like this may not be needed.
