2025 JONES FRONTIER SNOWBOARD REVIEW
The 2025 Jones Frontier was made to be an all-terrain freeride board that is perfect as your everyday weapon of choice. A friendly mid flexing core keeps it nice and playful for park riding and all-terrain freestyle fun, while the directional, hybrid camber shape features the famous Jones 3D Spoon 1.0 contour. This makes the board solid and stable underfoot thanks to the camber throughout while the rocker and Spoon contouring in the nose and tail reduce edge catch, making it easier to turn in tight terrain and provide extra float in powder. Frontier by name, explorer by nature, this board is comfortable in any kind of terrain.

All-mountain freeride board I gotta get on!
How does the 2025 crewzer compare to the 2024 model? I heard they made some changes
Great review! I look forward to getting one of these back in the states....I wonder if they will make the base graphics like the ones shown in the 2025 catalog or if they will just go with the"normal" Jones across the bottom. I actually like the one in the 2025 catalog alot
What are the differences between the '25 Stalefish and the '24 (gold) Stalefish? Same shape and overall construction but new graphics? Thanks for the quick review!
I'm late to the party regarding Ride and K2 boards but bought 4 of their stiff cambered boards these past few years and am enjoying the hell out of them.
You guys have snow in Australia???
Yup we have a little bit. Enough to have a few world champs come from here.
Should i upgrade from my ride dh 2007 ? I am struggling to find a better replacement in my opinion for such a great board
If you are asking if a 2025 board will be better than a 13 year old board, then emphatically yes! The core of a snowboard is wood which over time looses pop (much like a skateboard) unless you have hardly used the board a newer board will have more pop and probably weigh less. + Everyone loves new board day!
Hey guys, I was wanting to buy a ride shadowban but I was not sure the size I should be getting. I was hoping that you could recommend the best size for my characteristics: Terrain: mostly groomers and powder Height: 6ft 2inches Weight: 195pounds Feet size: 44EU/10.5 (28cm mondo) thanks so much!
I have 2nd generation 151 and it's the best for all mountain! Warpig flat and i don't like rocker-flat between bindings boards.
5 10" @ 80kg with size 10US boot; whcih would be the best pick size wise ,,,,,154 , 155W or 157
157
Burton Custom or Shadowban? Intermediate rider most groomers, sidehits, and trees. Not so much on park riding.
Go with a Ride. Most bang for your buck snowboard company. Her where i live its board and binding for the same price as just the Burton Custom. You pay alot for that Board to say Burton or Lib-tech On it 😂😂
Hi, I am 6ft and 185 lbs, 10us size, would you go for 157 or 161?
Hi @swat662, both sizes suit the info you provided. Now, it comes to your riding style. If you ride park and want the board to be more playful, go for the 157, or if you want it to be more stable at high speeds and float better in powder, then I would go for the 161. I hope this has helped with your decision.
@@melbournesnowboardcentre Yes, thanks!
Thinking of picking one of these up for powder freeriding and carving groomers in JP next year. I'm about 62kg and a US 7 boot - what would be your recommendation between the 142 and 148 sizes? Thanks @melbournesnowboardcentre
Hi @jacintyre, thanks for the question. Both sizes work for your weight. The 142 would be more agile and easier to throw around in tight tree runs (which Japan has plenty of), and then the 148 would be more stable at higher speeds and float more easily in powder. I would also look at the Ride Superpig in a 148 or 151. The Superpig is the same shape as the Warpig, just with a lot more tech and a bit of camber, which is much better for carving and driving out of turns. I hope this has helped, and if there is anything else we can help with, don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
@@melbournesnowboardcentre thanks for the reply! Yep super helpful. How substantial a difference in float do you think I’d find between the 142 and 148?
@@jacintyre There would be a bit of a difference as you would have more volume with the nose and tail being 10mm wider. But I just discussed with a few of the other guys who have ridden the Warpig, and we think because of your size US7 boot, the 142 would be the better option as the 148 waist width would be getting on the too-wide side for your foot.
@@jacintyre float would be significantly different but so would handling. At your weight and shoe size the smaller board will be sufficient to keep you floating. I would worry that the bigger boards would feel to wide and sluggish edge to edge.
Sweet, this was exactly the advice I was looking for. Thank you!@@melbournesnowboardcentre
Love the binding strap being used as a microphone setup🤣
I’m an intermediate rider in my second season. I’m 6’1, wear a size 11.5 boot, and are 195lbs with all my gear on. Between the 161 and 160W, which board would you recommend? I want a board that’s good for powder, but great for butters, Spins, jibs, and jumps. Thank you
Hi there, with your 11.5 boot, we recommend you go with the 160w so you don't get any heel or toe drag. I hope this has helped, and thanks for your comment from the team at MSC.
Hey, im 6’1 156lbs size 10 boots, what size should i get ?
Hi @Bakitsunoda, we recommend the small size as the shorter, wider construction of the Warpig is meant to be sized down shorter than your regular all-mountain board. You could also ride the medium size if you want more stability at higher speeds. One of the guys at the shop who is around your height and weight said that the small was super fun. I hope this helps you out, and thanks for your comment.
@@melbournesnowboardcentre you think that the 154 is to big for me ? I usualy ride 162 cm
@@Bakitsunoda So the Warpig is meant to be ridden 6-10cm smaller than your usual snowboard because of the shorter, wider construction and going by your weight, you could still ride L (154). Still, you're right on the edge of the weight range, and this could end up being too much board, and you won't get the full effect of riding a volume-shifted snowboard. Saying all that invariably go with what you'll feel most comfortable on. I hope this has helped, and please let us know what you get and how it rides.
go by your weight I'm 220 and the 154 was a little small for me.@@Bakitsunoda
Hey team, any advice choosing between this and the Salomon assassin?
The Shadowban is a bit more of a do it all board. Both are directional twins but the shadowban should do a bit better in pow and be a bit more responsive. The Assassin is more forgiving.
Alright @jonathanross2304 @headreddedstepchild6177 we got it a bit wrong. The first year of the Twinpig was 2019, so the model is five years old. Happy riding!
Twin pigs have been around for at least 4 years. I have a 2nd or 3rd generation from the 2021 season
May I ask if there is any difference in comparison with 2023?
Hi, @maxli5790; the only real difference is that they have put a little rocker in the board's tail to help land switch in softer snow.
down graded base from my 2021 Alchemist 160... too bad about that. Also the '21 base came with a race grind (stone grind they call it). Those grooves lasted for two years. Board still going strong, just getting broken in.
Don know why they ditched the carbon base on this and the excavator its the same base on the ride commissioner and the peace seeker now
promo sm 🤘
I read this is an intermediate to advanced board, but then again I have been told by ‘snowboard experts’ that these are good boards for all levels? What’s your thoughts, thanks
Hey Badboy, the Warpig is a great board for riders of any ability level. The flat to rocker camber profile makes for a stable and predictable platform that is great for progression. The Warpig isn't great at going fast, however if you are looking for a fast pig then check out the Superpig. czcams.com/video/FOOoWwzSINU/video.html
I bought the 151 Superpig and Im 173 by 115kg. Super impressed how it provides stability, speed and quick turning for my heavy weight. Ive tried the Warpig which my partner has and this board is a lot stiffer but I like how I can cut through bumps and chops with the Superpig.
Hi, @steventaumoepeau601, thanks for the comment and for letting us know your thoughts on the Ride Superpig.
Ride is making full cap??
Great work Gordy!
Thank you kindly!
Do you think clew bindings will pair well with this board?
We don't sell clew bindings, but it would perform ok if you are looking for a quick-entry system binding. We would say Burton's step-on is the top-performing binding in this space. Thanks for your comment
just bought this board today and cant wait to use my step ons with them. just waiting for the snow! @@melbournesnowboardcentre
Size us 10.5 boots and weight is 92kg with all my gears on and height 175cm sooo would the 157 be ok or more the 155w ?
Hey @stevros48, the 157 Shadowban would be the size we'd recommend. As you have a 10.5 boot, you wouldn't need the wide. We hope this was helpful, and if you need if we could help with anything else, please hit us up.
Just received mine today can’t wait to use it will go great with my twin pig and my Ride concept ul love to keep this board it’s like a classic car so stoked about the shadow ban tho
Hey, Jimmy, it's definitely a shop staff favourite, but please come back and let us know how you think the Shadowban rides.
Will do 🤙
I gotta say this board does it all would like a little more pop but the turning is incredible this is probably one of the best all mountain boards highly recommended
Waiting for mine to be shipped to me
Any binding recommendations for the board.
We recommend the Ride C6 if you want to keep it in the ride family. They are designed for all-around performance, or I would look at the Union Force or Burton Cartel.
Great video man ! This is the first time I see the 2024 antidote, I’m definitely getting this when it’s available to buy in France !
This is the 5th year of the Twinpig
Yeah I literally bought the 1st version about 5 years back
@@Georgelikestodesign probably my favorite graphic of all the years, I have the 2021
