The day before my departure by bicycle from the racecourse at Le Touquet to travel down to Hyères on the Mediterranean, a distance of 1120km, in aid of Au delà des Pistes. Please support this organisation that does so much to retrain and re-home ex-racehorses.

This sportive (race to the beer 😂) has been on the cards for years and finally got myself organised for 2024 . Looking forward to July . Seeing some of those climbs and knowing how fat and unfit I am , I really should start some training .
I completed the ride this past summer and it was great, though I’d prefer doing it with someone else or in a group to break up the day. I remember the “Kilkenny farmer” but he’s not a farmer at all and had spent many years in the US. He was delightful in his old bike.
There was no food in watervill that was where food was needed most for the climb ahead very bad this year roads were rough
