Most of my brookie videos are from Franklin county including this one, with a few exceptions being in Cumberland/adams

Most of the brookie fishing I do is In Perry county and Cumberland, I have the best luck with squirmy wormy size 16 and a variety of hairs ear and frenchie / pheasant tail for the nymphs but with dries I stick to about 4 basic dries caddis stimulator parachute dry and terrestrials

Don’t remember exactly there was a lot caught that day but I think it was just under 4 pounds

@@mdk2 the falls are posted but upstream from where mill road crosses it I didn’t see any posted signs along the right side of the stream which is where I get in at. I’m not positive it’s allowed but there’s been people out in their yards while I’m fishing and they haven’t said anything

@@mpfishing5530 where do you park down there anymore. Arby’s is the only place I can think to park. Everywhere is blocked off.

@@mdk2 I had been parking at the parking area along the conodoquinet by the kayak launch including for this video but last time I went the gate was closed so I parked on south middlesex road in this big gravel pulloff area and then walked back from there. Not sure if parking was allowed there but my car didn’t get towed or anything

@@joedas2370 do you mean Letort Falls Park or Letort Park? I had been parking at the area below the falls and yeah they blocked it off with the gate the last time I went, so I parked in a big pulloff to the left along south middlesex road and walked back to the falls. Not ideal but you can still fish it that way. Then for the fly only section I had parked at Letort Park and fished in the park and then walked along the trail up under 81, there are plenty of parking areas further up in the fly only section that gave way easier access though

@mpfishing5530 yessir, the falls park. I'm not seeing the pull off on the map. Is it that lot looking thing right next to the rodeway inn?

@@joedas2370 yeah that’s it, maybe pulloff wasn’t the right word to describe it. It’s a bit of a walk from there to the falls but I couldn’t find a better option. Do you know why the park closed though, I’m assuming it’s temporary right?

@mpfishing5530 I heard people trashed it but I'm not sure. Not the first time they closed it either. This morning I parked at Arby's before they opened. Some employees saw me and didn't say anything. Unfortunately, water was pretty high and fast. I started wading up before I started thinking it was a terrible idea so I left. I wanna fish that stretch so bad, from your video it looks like perfect euronymphing water

@@joedas2370 yeah it’s a great stretch of water, lots of big fish too im assuming they swim up from the conodoquinet when it gets too warm. The first video I made in this stretch I lost a fish that might have been pushing 20 inches and then caught a 16.5 Incher. I was there a few days ago and it was pretty murky but the flows weren’t out of control yet as that was before the majority of the rain came through, if I had streamers with me I probably could have smacked them but I was forced to nymph and only hooked two little guys which both came off after a few seconds. If you go back after it clears up let me know how you do, it’s a great stretch of water I’m just not good enough to fish it as well as it could be fished

I always try to do that however as you can see in some of my videos I often forget to do that just because I’m so excited about the catch. I’ve been trying to get better about fish handling

It’s not the fly choice that’s causing me the problems, it’s just being able to get the fly in front of the fish without spooking them

Unfortunately I’m a little limited because of my equipment. My only rod is a 7’6” 6wt which is amazing for small spring creeks and dry flies but it’s less than ideal for nymphing. I have a 9’5” 5wt but I don’t have line for it yet

@@mpfishing5530 Let me know if you want to fish big water...we can drift the Yough in Western PA...streamers in the fall...you will need a heavier rod than a 5wt...

You can go ahead and name it if you want to try and guess. Not too concerned about spot burning it because obviously it’s hard to catch them, and in general it just needs more awareness and recognition so with all problems facing it the creek can be protected

@@Lucas-zk3zp yep. Absolute nightmare to fish especially in the summer when the weed growth is this high, only time I do well In the upper section is in the evening on dry flies or I get lucky in the middle of the day like I did in this video

@@connoreilersuncut exactly my point. The biggest fish you can catch out of a tiny freshwater creek like this is under 30 inches long. This was an above average trout for stream I was fishing. Obviously in saltwater fish grow bigger. Smaller doesn’t mean easier, google LeTort Spring Run and then try to tell me fishing a waterway of that caliber is easy

I’ve never had much luck in Michaux at least for bigger fish, I’ve caught a few over 7 inches and seen some that were pretty big but in general the fishing seems tougher there than other areas
