Oh yeah, another common problem is if the white plastic that is on the right side (there is a cut out hole on the right side) does NOT still have the shape of the hole it means the white plastic is crooked or just loose, that means the pusher (the silver sword that pushes the tobacco into the filter) is also crooked, if that plastic is off, the sword will come through the side of the filter. EDIT: A LOT of you probably have or still have problems of the machine spitting out cigarettes only half full. It means the smaller spring is too loose. You can either A. Get 2 pliers and give the spring more tension and B: you could go to ace and by a slightly smaller spring. Half smokes is the most frustrating out of all the problems

LOL, "chew on life". I love it! I, like you, am within a hair breadth of running over the exact same POS machine. It stopped behaving like new a carton ago. So, lots of experimenting but no real fix as of yet. I'll try the double stick tape and see if it helps. Note, I must clean the ram often, VERY often. On the verge now of buying a different brand or even a new Top for another $47. Yeah sure, I'm saving gobs of money by making my own but now that I have to pack each cigarette to fill gaps... my patience is very close to its limit. My 100mm 'hundreds' are NOT hundreds but not quite as short as kings. This shit should NOT be happening! Hmm, HaleyFlix is in North Carolina and has a cool southern drawl. As for me, I live in far NW Iowa, a stone's throw from South Dakota. We have no accent. South Dakotans have no accent either. But Minnesota @ 30 miles away... up a ways, yep, sound like Canadians with their constant 'ay' or 'eh' and 'what're you talking aboot?' LOL.

This Fix really worked, I was like you ready to destroy this machine but I decided someone else surely had the same problems so i came to YT found your video and my roller works like a charm. I have several Top-o-Matics sitting around I bought a Premier so it works for that machine as well. I will fix my Tops and try them out as well. Thanks for doing the video.

a couple felt-stickers !?!? .... This is my second machine which eventually developed the same issue . I've upgraded springs , tweaked and bent and adjusted , dissassembled and reassembled .... Those little stickers made it work perfect again .Thank you Sir !!!

Those little knobs are aluminum and they're rubbing on brass with no lubrication. It was a bad design

Wow ! You are a Top O Matic Genius ! I've had jamming and 1/2 filled tube problems for years with 2 of these damn machines. I replaced the 09 short spring and added a rubberband to it to add more tension to the 08 rubber cover. I've also rebent the injector to adjust it's diameter using a phillips screwdriver as a form and pliers to squeeze to injector. I have also blamed the problems on the consistency of the Great Stuff tobacco which changes with it's moisture content. It goes from nice pliable shredded leaf to fine powder as it quickly dries out. I suspect the fine dry powder to be problematic even with a new machine. Anyway, your video fix with the foam pad limiter is a winner. Other videos on the subject are on the wrong track. Yours got right to the heart of the problem and solved it at no cost. The little studs on the 010 tamper that connect to the 018 link are the main culprit when they're worn, creating unwanted slack/play and reducing firm pressure on the tamper. That in turn causes the tobacco to be malformed. I've wasted a lot of tubes and dried up powdered tobacco. As soon as I tried your fix, BINGO. Thank You HaleyFix. As a footnote; as Top O Matic/Republic tobacco has likely figured out that the "010" tamper is their top seller of their replacement parts, it's probably no coincidence that it's, by far, their most expensive replacement part. $$$

OH MAN DUDE MY BRO.. I’ve had this thing for about 5 years plus..! I’ve done a few mods to it and have had it working way better but always something with it. So basic of a machine what’s the darn deal. I’ve gotten o e of those little electric ones even they come in blue and red/black.. they are no good my man and they aren’t that cheap either. It cuts the tobacco a little to fine for me and there’s not much adjusting you can do with them. It works just not the best. This machine in well working condition does make them better than the little electric ones that run about $45-55.. man I found some cheap Top tubes and some tobacco for $1.99 believe it or not. Yup I had to go back to rolling my own. Tried to get one of those little injections deals. Little plastic thing but works great. I figured I’m in good shape because I had this one at home and the little injectors were out of stock of corse. Why not look on the tube and see if anyone has something new and figured this thing out. Has to be something wrong in the design or something. There’s a little wheel that’s actually attached to the piece you’re putting a bumper for. The opposite end with the little wheel that catches IVE noticed that one drops to low on mine and that causes a huge click and throws it all off. Just bent that one up. I’ve always been able to get it goin but only for a little while. Writing all this is 100% worth it. You have a new subscriber here bud.. my damn machined and I mean “Damned” machine I thought this thing was evil after all these. It’s so simple and I just couldn’t figure it out. Hey it worked for a while but i ended up putting a peice of a guitar pick inside the tape stack because it got memory and got sloppy.

THIS solved my problem I did this and after I did not have one miss fire and racked out over a pack in 5 mins and they all came out perfect!!

I just did this to mine exept i put some duct tape with some medical pad kinda like bandaid meteral and it rolls better than new and your fix was amazing and im forever greatful. I think top should fix these machines to benifet from this and pay you for your genious idea. Thanks from missouri .😊
