Sig Kaiser, and Hail Liberty Bell! This is a great one.
I was playing this game when it came out. I was young, and it was hard. I didn't end up beating it until I was a teenager.
Jesus 4 1/2 hrs before any actual analysis. If you write a book critique you dont generally summarize every single chapter…no one who clicked on your 5+hr video retrospective hasnt played the game already
Analysis is only part of it. I wanted to retell the story in my own words with some commentary of how i felt then. The chapters i made for this reason. This isnt a book critique brah, this is my retrospective lol and ill do it anyway i please.
@@Nerdporeal well its boring as hell. If thats what you going, for you did a great job.
Boring is subjective lol
@@Nerdporeal you asked your audience to tell you what they think of your retrospective in your pinned comment. So i did. If i had said you did a good job would you clap back back by telling me thats a subjective opinion? The only feedback you’re interested in is having equally tedious nerds tell you what a special boy you are.
@aworldwithoutzinc3828 yeah i heard your opinion and rejected it. Theres plenty of videos out there for you that meet your standard. Saying my video is boring because there is not enough analysis for you is just rude. If you dont like it, thats fine but this was what i wanted to do. Not everyone feels the way you do, some havent had the chance or the time to play in years and this video can help satiate that nostalgia and relive their experiences when they did play. This isnt an echo chamber brah, go be rude elsewhere.
18:29 Thank you for including this, one of my favourite POTA references ever 😂😂😂😂
I just had to include that musical. Back when Simpsons were good.
The end of Aliens is such a relief after what they went through. BUT Alien 3 is the saddest film I have ever watched !Just imagine how the 3 goes make me sad. Ripley lost her “daughter”. One more time she has to fight with an alien. Furthermore the prisoners try to rape her. To make matters worse ? Ripley has a xenomorph inside she knows her time is coming. Bravely she kills herself at the end. I watched the saga when I was 10. I am still traumatized.
It's a GREAT movie - and don't call me Shirley.
What is it? A picture that moves...... but thats not important right now
This might be the best OoT retrospective I've seen. It's feels like I'm reliving my own experience with it. Do you have plans or any interest covering other Zelda games?
Eventually. I did cover A Link to the Past and the original two. The former is my most viewed video
And well done for nailing it btw...in a film critique type way
Thank you so much
The new ones don't deal with the horror of how we, as a human species, would actually greet this upside down world. We think we would be all cool and just like. you know, deal with it. But of course........we would be utterly discombobulated. We would not have the slightest clue. And this is why this film is so timeless. Because.....it's close
I feel the new ones provide an alternate beginning like 3 to 5 were with the coexistence of man and ape vs the idea of man being at the lowest of the animal totem pole and apes becoming a reflection of humanity at its most powerful. Agreed
Do the followup to Planet of the Apes it has Ricardo Montalbhan and it shows how Caesar taught the apes to free themselves leading to man's doom. Its a good one !!
I first heard of this movie back in 1970 when I saw a television commercial advertising it coming to cinemas in Australia. We got it later than in the USA. First saw it in 1974 (I was 12 at the time) and then the television series came out. Even then I knew there were a lot of hidden meanings and messages in the movie. Greetings from Brisbane Australia.
God bless all apes on this planet. Hope they will survive. Love this old classic. I dont like the new one, only computer apes. No thanks. I m always like realy apes. The making of this old movie is amazing and i look it every year. Charlton Heston is brilliant.
Thank you my friend. I take it you are in Europe? Hello there from the US!
Thank you for reminding me that I gotta go back an play this game
Im gonna be playing more tonight. I love this game. Hope they announce the remasters of the other two games soon
Wonderful content! Came here by chance, or maybe not by chance after all! Legend of the Galactic Heroes is a superb work of military science fiction.
I appreciate you stoppin on by. Hope you check out the channel and find something you like.
I love this movie so much but the fact that they removed the scene about her daughter is unforgivable. It makes Ripley’s relationship with Newt so much more meaningful, and with the added context of Ripley’s late daughter, the moment when Newt calls her “Mommy!” at the end is so emotional
Ironic that the real life Eastwood is - Republican very right wing both a political & business opportunist, and pro establishment, everything Dirty harry is against
I unapologetically adore the planet of the apes franchise. Charlton Heston is just phenomenal and I’m also a huge fan of the new movies
1968 was a great year for sci fi movies. Not only do we get classics like Planet and 2001, but campy cult classics like Barbarella and The Green Slime.
1:48:27 I never knew you could jump over the main gate, I always jumped over the side wall.
Would it have been possible to expand the number of button inputs by using combos like A + B = combo1 = world map?? Fighting games could register dual inputs i think?? idk
IMO best sci-fi movie ever made.
Did you enjoy the video?
@@Nerdporeal yes
I made a point of buying the box set of the original series of films as these are some of the best science fiction movies ever made. Hell, all of the bonus features alone are worth buying the set. I'll never bother with any of these CGI-laden remakes.
The Caesar trilogy in my opinion are better movies than the Original Apes sequels. Very compelling and highly investable. The newest one sucks. The filmakers this time forgot about a concept called sea level
the time when sci-fi was a brain thing other then fast editing and woke bs
Thanks . For sharing I was probably 10 years 0ld. Ramdomly rewacht movie and injoy it.
Get rid of those ads!👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
for me this is the superior movie...the best in the series easily...it has everything from alien + better writing and i think the setting suits it better
I was a big fan since I was a kid, I was able to watch Escape, Conquest and Battle at the Theater. They had did the Go Ape again , I was 7 or 8. So this was like 1975, I never liked Beneath though.
Here’s a review. Two thumbs down. Silly, predictable, and ridiculous.
Got this in my algo today and I might as well ask this here… I watched this something like 10 years ago and it became my favorite anime story of all time. It truly feels epic in scale, the music is beautiful and fitting, and the art will always be beautiful to me. Tried watching the remake several years back and didn’t like it for whatever reason, just didn’t grab me like the original Is there a place to easily watch the episodes? Doesn’t even have to be for free, I’ve just always wanted to recommend it to my Gundam/drama loving friends but I’ve never seen the original series on a streaming service. I haven’t checked places like Crunchyroll recently but if you have any info I’d appreciate it!
At the end of the vid, i say it is streaming on hidive
@@Nerdporeal Thank you so much, greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for this trip down Ape memory lane! Loved it! 🎉
Appreciate the discussion. 🤘🏼😎
My internet Cuting right as you said maybe a Lawrence of Arabia watch party is so embarrassing lmao
I blame AC.......
Released in February of 1968 I would have 4 at the times and wouldn't get to see any of the Ape series until they aired on network television. Never since has anything captured my imagination like these films. I was obsessed with them as a kid and you're likely to find a doodling of an ape in profile on any available piece of paper. I had a model kit of Cornelius, which I insisted on taking with me when my mother and I went to the store and left it on top of a gumball machine, gone when we returned. I remember buying the novel but didn't get very far into it because it was very different than the film, especially how the apes lived in actually cities that resembled our own and had technology like ours. For a kid I didn't understand that the process from page to screen could be a very complicated one. I think they were wise not to have them in modern cities and dressed in suits, instead giving them a slightly more primitive appearance. I suggest watching a strange Japanese film titled Time of the Apes to see how silly this might have looked. It wasn't until decades later that I actually read the novel and quite liked those differences, but they play better in the theatre of the mind than realized on a screen. I was surprised how similar the ending of the wretched Tim Burton remake actually mirrors the ending of the novel. As I got older I started to enjoy those films that had a social and political commentary and were less action driven, specifically Escape and Conquest (my favorite of them all), and the one I still have no affection for is Beneath. The only one I got to see on a big screen was Battle, which is unjustly maligned, especially by John Landis in a Trailers From Hell commentary. I think it's a very satisfying conclusion of the series, leaving us on an ambiguous note about the future of Ape and Humanity. The make-up effects are fine given their period, although those in the Burton remake are the sole reason to watch it.
I love this movie.
What about this video?
This earned a subscription. Excellent vid. Now excuse me while I look for my copy of the original Planet of the Apes.
potato butterflies
I saw the original movie when it came out when I was 7. My mom took me and I think she had a thing for Charlton Heston? It has been my all time favourite movie since. The next one that I loved was War for planet of the Apes. I wonder how many people watching this video were around when the original came out? I also have the book.
Nova, what a beauty. I believe she was the directors gf or wife. Something like that.
I still love this game to this day. Definitely my favourite
I always found it weird that people say that Dirty Harry was a fascist dirty cop, aside from the Scorpio torture which was a tactic born out of pure desperation rather than sadism (and it backfired badly on him), in none of the movies does Harry ever use excessive force and is remarkably true to protocol most of the time too, despite the dickish attitude (Which is not a crime but apparently people on twitter seem to believe so) the guy was also remarkably progressive for his time, really Callaghan wasn't a bad cop at all, especially compared to other characters in movies at the time.
Great review um I mean synopsis. Give it a rest Nerdporeal

What is the difference between a game review and a walkthrough?
One is played straight through from startvto finish and one is a discussion with edited video.
@@Nerdporeal your video is crap.
@@Nerdporeal did you delete my reply?
Hahaha i reject your conclusion
I should....but i didnt haha
I went to the cinema as a young man to watch this movie and it blew me away with the filming and costumes and heston was out of this world , I went to see it because I first watched heston in major Dundee and thought what an actor
The uncle doesn't pass away
It seems like he does since you cant talk to him for the rest of the game and i think his body is gone in the second half of the game.....correct me if im wrong
@@Nerdporeal when you beat the game you and your uncle are together and it says your uncle recovers
@gregc6107 The Triforce revived him and restored his faculties. Thats how i interpret that. The stakes are much higher that way. Which is part of what makes this game a masterpiece...
I guess it's an age thing but calling Forbidden Planet 'Underrated' is misleading. It was a critical AND commercial success on release and has only grown in stature since.
