Yeah man I reckon so many of us have been through the same struggles when getting into cnc plasma cutting. Consistent clearance, amps and travel speed are so critical. She’s a sensitive beast!. Change the metal thickness and you have to change the settings again… the last parts of the fire pit were really easy because I had it dialled in with new consumables … made a massive difference!

I could have edited out all the issues I had but… all that does is create a false reality haha. The reality is that it’s bloody hard and so many curve balls get thrown your way. 😂

Yeah I plan on getting the x2 large cut system from arcdroid…. Although I never really planned on cutting large pieces. It’s more for brackets etc 🙏

Yeah so the issue on this one was the order of cuts. External should always be last because when the tip touches to sense material height, it will tip the material if it’s no longer attached to the sheet of metal. Also, my other mistake was that I didn’t realise that in fusion 360, you need to make passages to connect to internals of lettering. Like the middle of the A and B etc… otherwise it won’t even look like what you want to cut… haha another issue for me at the start was learning the lead in and lead out points… and what side of the line is to be cut that relates to what part of the material you wish to remain. Like if the internals of the letters are to be cut out, they are the removed part and lead in and out needs to be on the material that will be thrown away… it’s allot man but it’s so worth it!!! 🙏

Yeah so when you buy the machine… hopefully with my link and code 😉… also buy the universal cnc communication cable. My razor cut 45 had an adapter plug that came with it… it then plugged into the cable that I bought with the arcdroid. It really only uses two of the pins for the torch on and off… you’ll see me connect the wires to the cnc in my other video. The cable is called “C4301 CNC PLASMA CABLE - UNIVERSAL”. Hope this helps you out man 🙏😎

I sure do. I realised this after making the video and the coordinations when moving the arm weren’t matching what I was seeing on the screen. This is a result of breezing over the video of how to set this up… if I had on read the instructions on the website, I would have seen that the two half moons on the front edge of the base plate were for the triangle. 🫡

Thanks for the info. Yeah the sort function would sort all the cuts. Some of the cuts needed to be the opposite of the others. I ended up setting up the cut paths in fusion 360 and got it to work properly that way 🙏

I tried what you said. It’s definitely better on the ceramic cup on my machine. The plastic section on mine is slightly tapered and it’s impossible to ensure the torch is square to the material. Thanks for the info but I keep it where it is until I upgrade to a proper torch.
