Great and informative. Thanks for the video
From obd to that red wire I understood. What is that adapter on red wire which connects your light? Pl advise. In my case I have a wire which is from relay. No adapter. Is it okay to directly connect this wire to that red one from obd?
That is an adapter required to connect to your OBD port. The relay wire can't be directly plugged into the OBD port hence you need to connect the adapter to the relay wire and then plug it into the OBD port. The amazon link is in the description of the video.
@@som686 yes I bought the adapter from your link. So now I have to cut the adapter wire and connect the relay wire to this adapter? Which also should match the obd port point where there is supply. Correct?
@@APACRIDER Yes
Power Supply from OBD port is a worst idea
It’s not the power supply. It’s just an active voltage signal to activate the relay. The power supply is from the battery.
That's what I am saying taking constant voltage supply for non genuine accessories from OBD is the worst decision. You could blow the fuse box or short circuit the ECM as well.
The port is for connecting diagnostic tools, not for fitment of any other voltage supply.
@@ritu4277 ok you are right.
Thanks for the tutorial. Can you please show the CarPlay installation as well?
Can you share your whatsapp number. I have this bike also..mere ko kuch help chea the

Pretty cool! Thanks for the idea!
whats your instagram id ?
Thank you brother. I used this video as reference and did the exact same wiring on Speed 400 to connect maddog scoutx light and it’s really helpful. Now I have 1. power source adapter connected to obd2 port, 2. a line from switch pro connected to obd2 adapter and 3. Positive and negative lines connected to battery terminal all under the seat. Even if I want to stop using fog light, all I need to do is just to remove seat and unplug the connectors. Just 30seconds work to unplug. Thank you 🤩
Hey Som. It's super useful. Done with application of PPF for the tank? Any suggested brand for matte PPF? I'm gonna get one this March, same Khaki Green
No, I haven't done the PPF. Also, FYI ... if you do PPF it voids the paint warranty that your bike comes with. Yes, Triumph provides 3 years of warranty on your paint job. I heard it straight from the Service center.
Nice video! This could have been very helpful if you made this video in english. or can you make the caption in english? thank you from Ph!
Brother where did you purchased carplay device, can you please share some details
I got it from US via there website carpuride.com
This is wonderful, and I really appreciate the tutorial you provided, but can we please have a walkthrough on fitment as well that shows how to tie the harnessing and getting the bike ride ready?
Where we can buy carpuride system , Please reply
excellent tutorial mate..you simplified it to the T.
Very meticulous. I love how you test at every step to eliminate points of failures. Given how neat your approach is, you can probably spend a bit more and get a Denali Powerhub to connect these accessories.
I actually tried the Innov Powerhub 3 for setting up a proper 5 connections options but then gave up on it because 1). I won't be adding more accessories to the bike so don't need to spend the extra 7k. 2). The scrambler internals are so densely packed, that finding a spot to fix the powerhub and all the wiring it comes with was going to be a big challenge. But in case you are wondering this is what I experimented with amzn.to/3NT06rZ much cheaper and equally good as the Denali one.
@@som686 I have a CB350 (eyeing the Scrambler 400x) with a similar setup as yours, though the proprietary connectors of Honda make things tricky. I did a parallel one on my friends KTM which has pretty standard 2.8mm std clips along with dedicated one for aux- connections. I was kinda hoping the smaller Triumphs to have those as well (Bajaj). Nice to know about the Innov Powerhub 3, very similar looking Rowe's PDM60.
Very useful video , and very well explained,,video quality is good,we hope for more useful videos ,thums up
Thanks for such a informative video @Som, Also can u also possibly make a video on the installation/ final after install status of both the lights and the carplay for bike, I am sure most of the scrambler buyers would want to have some sort of addon mfd, as the stock cluster just ain't enough😅
Hope there’s a cansmart for new Triumph 400s in future.
The closest we got now is the Innov Powerhub 3. amzn.to/3TIkwro Its handles upto 5 accessories. But isn’t programmable as the can smart
Where did you buy the car play system ?

👍 very informative thx sir kya aap isi headlight open kar ke bta sakte ha? To change the color of drl led
Good job man.
Please share the full installation video.
please make a separate video about the bike CarPlay system
Yes , that would be great
can you give me link those products cae playnd light
Thank you for the information. Appreciation is must for your efforts.
Do you suggest getting the scram or ktm adventure - my purpose is 70% city and 30% long rides with wife sometimes the kid too (maybe shorter ride) - do you suggest scram ?
I haven’t ridden the KTM but Scrambler isn’t suitable for 3 passengers. The pillion seat is small and can accommodate a petite pillion.
Good Video
This applies to most of the modern bikes, Thanks for the video.
That solves where you can get the required voltage but what about the current? How can you know the max current draw of any of the powerd source?
Usually there are two parts to this. 1. How much current does your battery provide. Usually 12 volts bike batteries provide 20 amph. 2. But more importantly how much current draw can your wiring support that connects the battery to the accessories. Usually modern bike wiring support upto 10-15 amph. That is another reason why it is recommended to use a power source that is not being used by other electrical systems already. Since the one I am using is an unused port I am sure it can support upto 10 amps atleast which is more than what the AUX lights need. Now if you want to use multiple accessories here, it would be recommend to use a power hub that is connected to the battery directly and the relay if the power hub is connected to the OBD power supply. The same way I connected the harness pro in the video. Relays are safe as they draw milliamperes of current to operate, lot less than what the wires can provide. Hope this helps
Thanks .. very informative
Glad it was helpful
Thanks Som! that was an incredibly helpful bike hack! You sir, are awesome.
